In order to purchase a firearm in Massachusetts, there are a few things that you need. Assuming that you have already gone through the Licensing process, we will talk about what you need for any purchase with a dealer in Mass.
First, you need the appropriate license. So, buying a handgun, you would need an LTC. Otherwise, an FID is all you need to purchase a Shotgun or non-large capacity rifle.
Second, you need to make sure that you bring that license with you, along with a second form of identification. A driver's License or US Passport for example, are acceptable. Other forms of ID are acceptable, depending on your situation
Most important, is the last item needed in Massachusetts, to buy any firearm. YOUR STATE ISSUED PIN. Not to be confused with the UPIN on the 4473 Background check.
For whatever reason, you are unable to locate you letter with your PIN, don't panic.
